Mary Jo Herseth is a Senior Vice President and the National Head of Banking in the U.S. with BMO Private Bank.

 

She oversees the strategic development and delivery of customized banking solutions to high net worth individuals, families and organizations, including closely held and family-owned businesses. Ms. Herseth joined BMO in 2009 and has over 33 years of experience in the financial services industry. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University in 1981 and her Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1990. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. 

 

Ms. Herseth is a member of The Chicago Network, where she serves on the Board and chairs the Reception Committee. Ms. Herseth has been involved with Thresholds, Illinois’ leading not-for-profit psychiatric rehabilitation organization, for over 20 years.  As a Board member, she currently serves on the Executive Committee as well as co-chairs the Development Committee.  In addition, Ms. Herseth serves on the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago’s Cabinet and is co-chair of Tocqueville Society.  Ms. Herseth also serves on the Board of Governors of Oak Park Country Club and she co-chairs the annual Fundraiser for Forest Preserves of Cook County Foundation.  She served as a member of the Board of the Standard Club and the Economic Club of Chicago, and is a member of the Chicago Finance Exchange. Ms. Herseth is a former trustee of The John Marshall Law School, where she served three, three-year terms. In addition, she is being honored by the Anti-Defamation League of Chicago as Women of Achievement in April 2017 and is a member of Northwestern Memorial Foundation’s Professional Council for Philanthropy. Ms. Herseth is recipient of the NAWBO corporate woman of achievement for 2011.
